The conversation simulator

People leave training convinced. Two weeks later they're back to old habits: not because they forgot the theory, but because they had nowhere to rehearse it without consequences. The conversation simulator is that place: AI role-plays written on your real situations, with feedback on your own success criteria.

A person wearing headphones at a laptop in a quiet work corner, practicing a conversation; the screen is out of focus.
A place where a misstep is working material: you rehearse the hard conversation before having it for real.

Sound familiar?

"We ran the feedback training three months ago. Nobody gives feedback." A training budget spent without repeated practice is a budget lost. Difficult conversations are learned like swimming: not from explanations, from repetition. A study of real workplace activity shows how fast it fades: 62% of training content is applied right after a session, dropping to 44% after six months and 34% after a year (Saks & Belcourt, 2006).

"The new sales hire is learning on real customers." The first dozens of conversations are the worst ones, and the customer relationship pays for it. They can be moved somewhere mistakes cost nothing.

"We have a nicely written escalation script. Nobody follows it under pressure." A script you've never said out loud isn't a script; it's a document.

What it actually is

An environment where a person holds a conversation (by voice or text) with a purpose-built AI counterpart: the skeptical client with no time, the high performer who's demoralizing the team, the doctor who already has a standard treatment. The AI objects, pushes back, goes quiet, gets upset. At the end, the person gets an analysis and a score against criteria we've defined together with you, plus concrete coaching suggestions. They can retry as many times as they want.

The build has three pieces, and all three are written by us, not pulled off a shelf:

Persona
who's on the other side: personality type, communication style, motivations, objections.
Scenario
the situation and the stakes: a product launch, an accountability conversation after a missed target, an angry customer following a technical error.
Evaluation criteria
what success looks like at your organization: good questions asked? resisted the urge to discount too fast? stayed on facts, not on the person?

The third piece is what separates a training simulator from a chatbot playing pretend. Evaluation isn't generic; it checks the exact behaviors you want to see.

Who it works for

Managers and team leads
corrective feedback without demotivating, accountability conversations, mediating a conflict between two colleagues, resistance to a new procedure.
Sales
a skeptical client's objections, negotiating value without jumping straight to discount, a follow-up meeting where the client is stalling.
Customer care and support
de-escalating an angry customer, setting realistic expectations without overpromising, a handover with no loss of context.
HR and recruiting
a standardized behavioral interview, a difficult feedback conversation, a separation conversation.
Safety and compliance
reporting an unsafe situation to a supervisor, stopping a risky practice, a conversation after a near miss.

The platform also allows swapping roles mid-conversation: the manager can step into the shoes of the employee they just gave feedback to. It's the fastest empathy exercise we've seen.

How we deliver: three formats

Post-workshop add-on

Who it's for
teams that just went through a training (with us or with someone else) and want it to actually stick.
What you get
3 scenarios built on the training content, four weeks of practice for participants, a closing report, and a facilitated one-hour debrief where the group sees what's changed.
Format
4 weeks. The simplest entry point: it doesn't replace anything, it extends what you already paid for.

Practice program Most popular

Who it's for
organizations that want one specific competency (feedback, customer conversations, negotiation) to become a reflex, not a topic covered once.
What you get
a diagnosis of the organization's highest-stakes conversations, 6–10 scenarios with their own evaluation criteria, new scenarios added monthly as real situations arise, monthly reports to L&D and HR, and two facilitated group debriefs.
Format
3 months, with an option to continue. We keep the account and the administration.

Role training for new hires

Who it's for
high-volume roles with a long ramp to productivity: sales reps, support agents, medical reps.
What you get
a simulation track the new hire goes through in their first weeks, with a pass threshold before their first real conversations, plus a dashboard for the direct manager.
Format
a standing track, reviewed quarterly. Integrates into existing onboarding.

How we work on this

  1. Diagnosis. The 3–5 conversations that cost the most when they go wrong. The first conversation is free.
  2. Writing. We build the personas, scenarios, and evaluation criteria, then validate them with you before launch.
  3. Practice. People get access, practice at their own pace, retry as often as they want. Nobody installs or administers anything.
  4. Report and debrief. Monthly, what's been practiced and what patterns keep repeating. Recurring patterns become either new scenarios or a workshop topic.

We hold the account, we write the scenarios, we send the reports. You're not buying another tool to administer.

Why it's not "just a chatbot"

Structure
defined roles and training modules, not a conversation that depends on how well you phrase a prompt.
Evaluation
scores on your own success criteria, comparable across people and over time, not general impressions.
Visibility for L&D
team-level dashboards: who's practiced, where most people get stuck, what's improved.
Data safety
private models, EU-hosted, that don't learn from your conversations.

Data and compliance

Simulations run on a European platform we partner with. Data is stored in the European Union (Germany), compliant with GDPR and the EU AI Act. AES-256 encryption at rest and HTTPS in transit, automatic redaction of personal data, independent security testing. Models are private: your conversations don't train public models, and accounts and history can be permanently deleted on request.

We provide the documentation procurement and DPO teams need before signing.

Frequently asked questions

A general chatbot can play a role if you push it with prompts, but it has no structure, scoring, history, or team analytics. The difference isn't the conversation; it's the frame around it: who the counterpart is, what success means, who has practiced, what mistake keeps repeating across the team.

Simulations run on a European platform, with data stored in the European Union (Germany). GDPR and EU AI Act compliant, AES-256 encryption at rest and HTTPS in transit, personal-data redaction, private models that are not trained on client data, and permanent deletion of conversations on request.

No, it extends it. Training gives the shared model and language; the simulator gives the repetitions afterward, which a human facilitator can't deliver dozens of times per person. The best result comes from combining both: a workshop, then four to twelve weeks of practice, then a group debrief.

The default setting is private practice: individual scores stay with the person, and the organization gets an aggregate, team-level view. It's the opposite of a performance audit: a place to get it wrong without real consequences, with unlimited retries. If a client wants individual-level reporting, we discuss that explicitly, along with how it's communicated to people.

You can, but you'd get an empty account. The work is in the scenarios written on your real conversations, the evaluation criteria that describe what a good conversation looks like at your organization, and the interpretation of results. We hold the account, build the scenarios, send the monthly reports, and facilitate the debriefs; you get the practice, not another tool to administer.

Over 40 languages, by voice or text. For distributed teams, the same conversation can be practiced in the language it actually happens in.
